Learning Diary 5

Summary

Project Manual acts as a structured guide for planning, managing, and reporting a project. The manual includes all essential parts for project documentation, including sections like project overview, schedule, task list, resources, and risk management. It uses a modified SCRUM strategy and work is divided into multiple sprints. The project manual includes templates and instructions for project documents such as the Project Plan, Mid Report, and Final Report. It defines roles like Project Manager, Steering Group, and Project Group. It emphasizes communication, both internally (within the team) and externally (with stakeholders). Key concepts are tracking progress, assigning resources, and managing risks in a structured way. Overall, the manual helps organize project work professionally and clearly.

Reflection

Working with this project manual made our project planning and reporting much easier. I was responsible for Sections 7 and 8, which covered the communication plan and important standards and practices. The instructions were easy to understand, with clear tables and examples that helped me to structure my writing. We used tools like WhatsApp for communication and Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation. Having such a detailed guide helped us reduce confusion in the group and increased consistency across all sections. I didn’t have much experience with formal project documents before, but this manual gave me confidence and a guide to write the documentation for our project plan. I understand why communication, planning, and task division are essential for any successful project.
